We have to admit that the idea had taken us back for a couple of seconds, but after having seen the result we figured this might not be such a bad idea after all. Some people may see it as odd, but if it looks decent, then who really cares? Of course it all started from the practical use of a curtain to divide the rooms, the effect was so interesting that Eiri Ota and Irene Gardpoit Chan though of hiding all the walls behind big white curtains. After painting all the walls white, they affixed on the ceiling rails for each wall in particular.

The curtains chosen were all white and were almost as tall as the walls themselves. Of course you can choose your favorite color but take into consideration the fact that a curtain wall might give an impression of overcharging the room if the color is wrongly chosen. Leaving that aside, you can also create false walls or emphasize a particular corner of a room by not placing a curtain there. The choices are infinite and allow you to play with space and color at your free will.

This is one of the most impressive homes we have seen yet. Its structure is a massive one, and the cutting edge shape fits perfectly into the scenery. The preferred materials for such a home is concrete and glass, to create both open space and keep the owners’ privacy. The design almost looks like a professional building where a business would be run, but this is actually someone’s home! Although this home is not situated in an area that would allow a huge outdoor space, the architects have made the best of its surroundings.

The side swimming pool is one of the best features it has along with the boundary green fences and walls that are meant to provide green textures that would soften the pavements. In front of the walls, the architect has used espaliered plantings that give the whole surrounding a leveled aspect that contrasts with the big concrete upper part of the house. The glass walls are high enough to give you a perfect view of the outdoors, but low enough not to rise above the green fences, thus offering the owners the privacy they need. The cutting edge house, seems to be an island of rough materials amongst the green outdoor space carefully created around it.
