It is simply a sad fact that a great many homeowners (me included) with hearths in their homes fail to realize the significance of fireplace screens when it comes to their décor. Far too often, we tend to view fireplace screens more as simple hearth accessories that provide some safety function rather than opportunities to add character and depth to our entire interior design scheme. However, when we take the time to choose the proper finish, fireplace screens can completely unify the entire hearth area and make it the focal point of the room.

Art Deco Fireplaces

What makes an art deco fireplace differ from other fireplaces? Art deco fireplaces are sleek and made with sweeping or curved lines and bright or saturated colours. You can get an art deco fireplace in any colour to match any room of your home, and they come in a number of great materials like stone, brink, wood, and even plastic.

The most classic of art deco fireplaces is one created with brightly coloured ceramic tiles. Tiles usually range in colour from solids like black and white to shades of emerald, purple, blue, and yellow. The tiles can be placed in a mosaic pattern if you’d like to create a picture or design, or you can create an art deco fireplace with a single colour of tile for a stunningly brilliant look.
