Tips to getting the most out of the little space you have can be found here at improving houses. Not many of us get to have a lavishing huge apartment or house that would satisfy our need of space and comfort. Only a few are as lucky as to have an enormous apartment in downtown, most have rather small apartments but this does not mean that comfort and space is something they should neglect. The modern designers bring into view a new type of beds that would fit in a smaller room as well. This trend has been set after a series of customers have shown interest in various beds shown at many of the furniture expositions all around the world but who declared that they could never have such a bed in their home because of the fact that they are designed for wide living areas. By reducing the bed size, the designers have opened up to a whole new consumer market that shows potential. Such was the decision of the designers of the Murphy Beds, a wide variety of beds that can be either hanged by the ceiling to create more living space or suspended on a partial semi-level support thus maintaining all the comfort you would have in a big designer bed. Moreover, the beds come in different colors that would enable you to adapt to the color you have chosen for your favorite room.

Jean Charles de Castelbajac is known to be part of the designers who are not afraid to be the promoters of an avangardistic trend, even when it comes to acrylic chairs. His chair designs impress not only by their uniqueness but also by the material they are made of: acrylic.

The collection of 25 acrylic chairs has caught the public eye particularly because of the impressive and interesting way each chair is created. None resembles another but they all have in common the material they were made of and this is what makes this collection unique. These chairs are not only a remarkable collection but a piece of contemporary art each in particular and one can see the creative effort that the designer has put into the making of them. Acrylic is not a common material to be used in making chairs and living room furniture, but who had thought that the effect they generate is astonishment and praise. The large variety of chairs allows one to choose their favorite or mix and match and the proprieties of the acrylic allows the designer to mould it in the shape and size not to mention color he needs. We would definitely recommend one in your living room.

This nice and clean billiard table is affordable only to those for which art and age mean an exquisite piece of furniture and who have the money to invest in it. This is one of the most expensive pieces of furniture for it to be used in someone’s spare time for actually playing billiards. Not only that this billiard table was made of the finest materials, but it is also engraved and decorated with state of the art motifs. The billiard table is built out of black walnut and the cushion friezes are decorated with quotations from famous poets and writers. As if this wasn’t enough, beneath the friezes one can see several panels with scenes from Queen Victoria’s life and scenes from different countries. Above each exposed part of the leg supporting the table, there are the small carved portraits of several kings of England. This pool table comes with a matching cupboard showing the Queen in four different stages of her reign. If this has impressed you to a certain extent, the price is twice more impressive, since we are talking of genuine black walnut and handmade carvings with splendid finishing, the price can easily go over £1million, even more so since this is a unique piece.

Home Security

A burglary is committed every 12 seconds so you should think twice when you lock your gates and front doors and you feel safe from being burglarized. Thieves will always search for homes with less barriers and in an unprotected house they could run in really fast and grab whatever they can and get out in just a couple of minutes. If you have windows in corners that are not facing the main street try to prevent them from opening with metal dowels or latches.

Try to install security systems that take note of disturbances in the windows if someone from the outside is trying to force them and starts the alarms. You could also install grills and iron bars to your home windows too. Burglars could watch homes for several days in a row and they will always try to break in when no one is home. If you live in a bad neighborhood it would be great if you would start a neighborhood watch.

So… do you still think that only locking your doors will be enough for your home security?
